Driving an Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Cars. Gotta love 'em. Luxury marques or high-spec sports cars, driving a great car can be a sublime experience. So when I needed a hire car, I turned to a quality Italian marque, Alfa Romeo, and their Giulietta for some fun. Here's what happened.

New Year Resolutions

I seem to be in the same dilemma I am every year, do I make a New Year resolution?  I was reading through my last set of resolutions – all which were meant to be achieved this year, and came to the sad realisation that even though I attempted a few I didn’t actually achieve any. Not one, nil, nada, zip, zilch. Pathetic.

So what are you going to do this year I hear you cry? Sensibility would dictate that I should realise I am utterly useless at these thing,  so should just resolve not to make any more resolutions (this would probably be the only one I’d ever stick to) but no, instead I have decided to redouble my efforts and go for it in next year! So here is my list of ten resolutions for next year. Come on 2012, I’m ready for you!

  1. I will not bore my boss by with the same excuse for taking time off. I will think of some more excuse.
  2. I will watch more television -it is the window into the world, apparently.
  3. I will buy some more accurate bathroom scales – I’m sure my current set stopped working around the same time Häagen Dazs introduced their Cappuccino Caramel truffle ice cream.
  4. Less sneering and more pouting at all times.
  5. I will prove to the next eligible man I come across that I am capable of having a functioning relationship and can be a one man woman.
  6. Cut down on the amount of clothes I buy, I will only purchase an item if I really, really need it or if it is in the sales, the store is having a discount day or they only have one left in my size - therefore it is fate (and I don’t like messing with fate)
  7. I will learn to tolerate people who irritate me more gladly, as long as this doesn’t encourage them to take up more of my time.
  8. I promise not to buy any shoes this year. Make that I will not buy more than one pair this year. You know what - actually I ruined a lot of heels in 2011. Let's just say I will not buy more than five pairs this year. After all, how can a girl live without having at least 5 pairs?
  9. I will stop yelling at inanimate objects. The toaster doesn't seem to darken my toast any faster, and the traffic lights don't turn green when I tell them to.
  10. I will not worry so much…
    Oh.
